Before & After
And the reasons we stage . . . is it worth it?
Why stage?
Is it worth it?
Staging is one of those things that you do not HAVE to do to put your house on the market. But, it is one of those things that sells your home faster and for more money. The national average for staging investment is 1% of house value. This up front investment can save sellers significant money by having their homes on the market for less time and get higher offers. Additionally, staging allows potential buyers to connect emotionally with the home and envision themselves living their ideal lives in it.
According to Home Advisor, houses that are professionally staged spend between 33-50% less time on the market. The National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) 2021 Profile of Home Staging found the following: “the longer a property sits on the market, the less it finally sells for…staging a stagnant home currently listed makes it sell up to 73% faster.”
Real Estate Staging Association finds that 85% of staged homes fetch offers 5-23% over asking. Realtor.com echoes all of the above arguments for staging stating that, “staged homes sell 88% faster and for 20% more than non-staged homes.”
NAR research also found that “82% of potential home buyers in US reported that when viewing a staged home, it’s easier to imaging themselves living in that home.” Although square footage, number of bedrooms and so on are important in deciding on a house to buy, the emotions and feelings evoked by a well presented home cannot be underestimated.
